What a fantastic Open Meeting we had!
Thank you to all for making it such a success! A most exciting day full of special moments and so many PBs in the sunshine! Our fully licenced meeting grows bigger every year and we had 240 athletes from all over the South of England taking part.
Thank you all for coming!
For many young athletes, this was their first proper athletics competition.
Our aim is to make every event a good experience for each athlete and we have been over-whelmed by the kind messages of thank you from so many parents and athletes who enjoyed being part of the action!
A Day of many Highlights:
- Athlete results on the electronic scoreboard
- Athlete interviews and music
- Medal presentations on the podium from England and GB athletes
- Exceptional talent in several events:
- U14 boys long jump George Ganio (Sutton) gold in 5.83m and Thomas Kennerley (GGAC trains at YAC Performance) silver in 5.50m!
- U12 Boys Aaron Malcolm from SLH outstanding 600m time of 1:41.28mins
- Mia Mosko (Woking) English Schools qualifying std in 100m 12.2s
- Highest ever points scores in U12s Quadkids
- PBs galore!!
- Glorious weather, great atmosphere
As a meeting organiser, I can say that it gave me and my team of officials and coaches a lot of pleasure to see athletes and parents enjoying the event and to see so many excellent performances on track and field.
